Printer-friendly version

1115 Emerson Street includes two buildings: a brick two-and-a-half-story main house and a brick two-story garage in the rear. The rear building, which is used as living space, is also addressed as 1115 ½ Emerson Street. According to permit number 1097, the main house was built by owner Anton Anderson in 1904 for an estimated cost of $3000. While no builder or architect is listed on the permit, an Anton Anderson was responsible for constructing a number of homes in central Denver around the turn of the century.  In several items in local newspapers it is noted that Anderson served as his own architect for several other homes.

In late 1904, Anderson sold the property to William A. L. Cooper. Born in Ohio in 1849, Cooper was the president of the Cooper & Powell furniture firm.
