The Denver Assessor’s website lists the year of construction for 1301 East Colfax Avenue as 1984, but an article in the Denver Post from 1959 indicates a commercial building was constructed on the site for $350,000 in 1959. This building served as the Metropolitan Industrial Bank from 1959 to 1990, and then as a video rental store. Video One was located here until 2009; by that time it was one of the last remaining independently-run video stores in the city. In 2010, it became home to the Gay Lesbian Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of Colorado (GLBT Community Center of Colorado or The Center).
