The Denver Assessor’s website lists the build date for 1355 Pearl Street as 1955. No building permit could be located for the construction of the apartment building. Douglas and Georgia Carruthers purchased this property sometime between 1946 and 1954. Based on the assessor’s year of construction, it is likely that they were responsible for the 1955 construction of the Holiday House Apartments, which is listed at this address in the Denver Gazette the following year. Douglas worked for the real estate firm Van Schaack & Company.
