1424 Corona St

Printer-friendly version

While no building permit could be located for the construction of this home, it appears that the two-story brick dwelling at 1424 Corona Street was constructed around 1900, the year that Lillian Sewall purchased the property from Mary A. Cross. The address first appears in public records that year, with Lillian and her husband Jeremiah Sewall living there. Jeremiah is listed in city directories that year as a wholesale fruit broker.

The Sewalls were married in 1894. By 1902, Jerry was working as a resident manager for the Pikes Peak Fuel Company. Lillian appeared frequently in the society pages of the local newspapers through her involvement with the Ergatean Club with the club events frequently held at the Sewall’s home. The Sewalls lived at 1424 Corona until at least 1907.
