2217 Franklin Street was built in 1891 for James Casey. On the building permit (#1361, 1891) the architect is listed as Norton and the builder as Hallack & Howard. It is possible that the the architect is Albert J. Norton, most famously of the firm Marean and Norton. The 1892 Denver city directory shows that owner James Casey worked as foreman at F. W. Best & Company, makers of electrical fixtures. James Casey appears at this address through 1896. In 1896, the property was transferred to Catherine Casey. No additional information could be located for either James or Catherine Casey. After 1896, the home appears to have become a rental property.
