David Freehling built this brick bungalow in 1922. He was a Russian immigrant of German heritage, born in Beideck, Russia, in 1882. David and his wife, Amalia (Mollie) were among many German-Russians who came to Globeville in the early 1900s to escape religious and economic hardships. David held a number of blue collar jobs, including working as a car repairman for the railroad, an ash hauler and at the state highway department. The Freehlings lived in their bungalow from 1930 until at least 1945, often with one or more of their grown children living with them.

In 1952, the Freehlings sold their home to George and Amelia Geier. The Geiers previously lived just a few blocks away on Pennsylvania Street with their three children. George was born in Argentina to Russian parents and came to the United States in 1908. George worked as a private gardener. In 1964, ownership was transferred to his son and daughter-in-law, George Jr. and Ruby F. Geier. George Jr. worked as a machine tender for Packaging Corporation of America.
