The two-and-a-half-story brick residence at 914 Ogden Street was built in 1906 according to permit number 1377. Although the builder and architect could not be found, the owner at the time of construction according to the 1906 deed was Andreas Eriksen (listed on the building permit as “A. Erickson”). Andreas Eriksen, who also appeared as Andrew Eriksen in Denver city directories, was a prolific contractor and builder in Denver.
William B. Hall purchased the property in 1918. Hall, who was born in Utah c. 1878, was appointed in 1925 to general purchasing agent for the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad as a reward for 30 years of continuous service. Hall, his wife Lillian Jane, and their six children resided at 914 Ogden Street. William worked as the railroad’s purchasing agent for the remainder of his career. After William’s death c. 1952, Lillian continued to live at the residence. The home was in the family’s possession for over five decades until Lillian’s death in 1970.
