In 1923, this lot and the one next to it were purchased by Gust Frosch (sometimes written as Frosh). Gust's brother, Joseph Frosch, pulled permits in 1924 to construct this home and the one next door addressed as 951 Lafayette. The contractor listed on both permits is E. R. Graybiel. Gust and Joseph Frosh were partners in Frosh Brothers, a tailor shop, and likely were both involved in the construction of these homes. Joseph and his family lived in this home until at least 1937.
