Collins Apartments

Printer-friendly version

The two-story red brick apartment house at 1365 Washington Street, known historically as the Collins Apartments, was built in 1929 for owner Joseph T. Collins at a cost of $35,000 (permit #598).  The permit lists the firm of Parry & Jones as the architect, and Gerald John Volcklandt as the builder.

Parry & Jones (architects Richard O. Parry and Lester L. Jones) appear to have worked regionally, and are probably best known for the 1939 addition to the Adams County Courthouse/Brighton City Hall, a building originally designed by John Huddart, and which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
